How do I join a Planning Poker session?
Your facilitator sends you a join link. You don’t need an account.
Joining
- Open the link.
- Enter a Display name: the name the room sees next to your votes.
- Select Join.
You arrive at the table. The story being estimated is shown at the top, and the list of stories is on the side. Select ▸ on a story to read its description.
Voting
- When a round is running, tap a card in Your hand. It lifts to show your choice.
- You can change your card until the facilitator flips the cards.
- Before the flip, everyone sees that you voted, as a face-down card, but not what you voted.
- When the facilitator flips, every card turns face-up. A player who didn’t vote shows Pass.
? means you’re not confident enough to estimate. pass means you’re sitting this one out.
Once the facilitator commits a score, it shows as Score on the table.
Watching without voting
Select Spectate to watch without being counted. Your vote on the current story is removed. Select Join the vote to take part again.
If you lose your connection
Keep the page open. If the connection drops, you’ll see Reconnecting… your seat and votes are safe. The page reconnects on its own.
If you close the tab, open the join link again in the same browser and you’ll go straight back to your seat. On a different device or browser, enter the same name as before. When asked, choose That’s me — rejoin to keep your votes.
If someone else already uses your name, choose Join as a new player or Use a different name.
When it ends
When the facilitator ends the game, the table shows Game ended and your cards are put away.
If you see You’ve left this table, the facilitator removed you or the game was deleted. Ask them for the join link again.
